Introduction
Klinefelter syndrome is a genetic condition in individuals assigned male at birth (AMAB) caused by an extra X chromosome.1 Cancer that develops in the breasts or breast tissue in the chest is known as breast cancer. Even though it is rare, AMAB patients can develop breast cancer.2 Studies show AMAB individuals with Klinefelter syndrome have a higher risk of breast cancer. Humans are typically born with a total of 46 chromosomes, which are organised into 23 pairs. However, sometimes a male is born with an additional X chromosome (47, XXY), leading to Klinefelter syndrome.4 This extra genetic material may be present in all body cells or only in some, known as mosaic Klinefelter syndrome.5

Male breast cancer is a condition in which malignant (cancer) cells develop in the tissues of the breast. The common types of breast cancer found in men include infiltrating ductal carcinoma, ductal carcinoma in situ, invasive lobular carcinoma, inflammatory breast cancer, and Paget disease of the nipple.6

Nonetheless, a few examples suggest a connection between male breast cancer and this therapy. Adding androgens could worsen the oestrogen-testosterone balance and increase the risk of breast cancer since Klinefelter syndrome patients convert testosterone to oestrogen more easily.9
